CCI Intelligent Student Recruitment & Lead Management System (CCI-iSRLMS)
The Intelligent Student Recruitment & Lead Management System is a full-stack enterprise web platform developed to digitally transform study-abroad student recruitment operations. The system combines a public student acquisition portal with an internal CRM/LMS, centralized MySQL data layer, counselor workflow management, analytics, AI-assisted consultation, secure authentication, and operational automation. Built using Next.js, React, TypeScript, Node.js and MySQL, the platform implements a custom repository-based database architecture using mysql2/promise, eliminating dependency on Prisma's production database runtime while maintaining a structured data-access abstraction. The platform provides role-based access control, JWT authentication, HTTP-only cookies, multi-tier rate limiting, automated database backup functionality, configurable recruitment pipelines, WhatsApp communication workflows, and executive analytics. The architecture is designed for deployment in constrained cPanel/CloudLinux hosting environments, making database connection reliability, resource efficiency, deployment compatibility and operational resilience important architectural considerations.

The Problem & Bottleneck
The major computational challenge is not simply storing student records. The bottleneck emerges from continuously querying, aggregating and transforming operational CRM data into real-time management intelligence. Raw Leads ↓ Date Filtering ↓ Stage Classification ↓ Counselor Attribution ↓ Conversion Calculation ↓ Destination Aggregation ↓ Registration Analysis ↓ Revenue Calculation ↓ Historical Comparison ↓ Trend Generation ↓ Executive Dashboard As data volume grows, inefficient data retrieval and application-level aggregation can become expensive.
The Architectural Solution
The system addresses the broader problem through several architectural mechanisms. 1. Centralized relational data model All important recruitment entities are represented in MySQL. 2. Repository abstraction Database access is centralized instead of allowing arbitrary database logic throughout the frontend. 3. Connection pooling Persistent MySQL connections reduce connection setup overhead. 4. Parallel data retrieval Analytics datasets are fetched concurrently rather than strictly sequentially. 5. Configurable pipeline Lead stages can change without restructuring the application. 6. Structured event/activity model Counselor interactions become measurable data. 7. Role-based security Different organizational roles receive different capabilities. 8. AI service integration Routine student consultation can be partially automated. 9. Domain-specific WhatsApp automation Counselors can move from CRM data directly into communication workflows. 10. Deployment optimization The application is structured for cPanel/CloudLinux environments rather than assuming a cloud-native Kubernetes architecture.
Core Capabilities & Features
System Architecture & Implementation
The CCI platform uses a modular full-stack architecture built with Next.js, TypeScript, React, Node.js and MySQL. Next.js provides the public website, protected admin/LMS interface and API layer within a unified application. A custom MySQL2 repository layer separates business logic from database operations and uses connection pooling, reconnection handling, timeouts and transactions for reliable database access. This approach was selected instead of relying on Prisma in production to maintain compatibility with the project's cPanel/Linux hosting environment. The system uses JWT authentication with HTTP-only cookies and role-based access control to secure administrative operations, with separate permissions for super administrators, editors, counselors and viewers. Multi-tier rate limiting protects authentication, public forms and AI services from abuse. The Lead Management System uses a configurable pipeline architecture with dedicated data models for leads, follow-ups, activities, notes and sources. This allows counselor activities and student progression to be tracked throughout the recruitment lifecycle. The analytics layer processes CRM and registration data to provide counselor performance, pipeline, conversion and destination insights. Google Gemini is integrated through a server-side API for AI-powered study consultation, while WhatsApp integration connects counselor workflows directly with student contact information. The platform also incorporates encrypted database backup, scheduled operational scripts and custom cPanel/Node.js deployment infrastructure, making security, reliability, maintainability and hosting compatibility key architectural considerations.
Measurable Results & Impact
This section needs to be written carefully because the repository contains implementation and automated tests, but does not provide a formal production load-test report. Therefore, the following should be divided into verified implementation metrics and benchmarks that still require empirical measurement. Verified implementation-level metrics
